Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools Superintendent Earnest Winston announced two new principal appointments at tonight's Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education meeting.

Rachelle Fink was named principal at Highland Mill Montessori, where she has been interim principal since 2020. She was assistant principal at Highland Mill from 2017 to 2020 and academic facilitator at Berryhill School from 2012 to 2017. Fink earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from Mary Washington College, Fredericksburg, Va.; a master's degree in special education from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte; and a master's degree in educational leadership from Winthrop University, Rock Hill, S.C.

Kyerra Oglesby was named principal at Newell Elementary. She has been assistant principal since 2019 at Winding Springs Elementary, where she was interim principal this year and dean of students from 2017 to 2019. Oglesby was a teacher at Idlewild Elementary from 2013 to 2017 and at Alma Elementary School in Gaffney, S.C., from 2006 to 2013. She earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Limestone College in Gaffney and a master's degree in educational leadership from Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs.
