CMS Makes Decision Regarding Snow Make Up Day For Students

Last month, snowy forecasts prompted school closings. Here's what CMS officials are saying about make up days.

CHARLOTTE, NC — Students in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools will not have to make up a February snow day, according to school officials.

CMS Superintendent Earnest Winston said the school district will waive the make-up day for Feb. 21, when district schools were closed due to severe weather.

“March 27 will remain a teacher workday,” CMS said, adding, “The superintendent is authorized to waive up to four instructional days each year in the event schools are closed to students because of severe weather or other emergency conditions.”
