Allison Whitaker was named the executive director for Title I program services. She has been a
director in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools Title I department since 2015. Whitaker was a school improvement coordinator in 2015 and a program administrator from 2011 to 2015 in the N.C. Department of Public Instruction. She was a school improvement specialist from 2005 to 2010 and an assistant principal from 2000 to 2005 in Durham Public Schools, an administrative intern in Chapel Hill-Carrboro Schools from 1999 to 2000 and a teacher in Catawba County Schools from 1995 to 1998.
Whitaker earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Appalachian State University in Boone and a master's degree in school administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
