  1. "The Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools Board of Education is one step closer to selecting a company to lead its search for a new superintendent. On Wednesday, the school board’s superintendent search committee is expected to review the finalists and select a search firm. For about a month, firms from across the country have had the opportunity to pitch CMS on how they would search for a new leader. CMS’ request for proposal form outlines what the district is looking for in a search firm," WCNC reports. (WCNC.com)
  2. "Charlotte’s largest food festival will return to Tryon Street in Uptown this spring, organizers announced on its social media pages on Wednesday. Taste of Charlotte, a three-day festival featuring Charlotte-area restaurants offering samples, along with a mix of family entertainment, shopping, live music and activities for kids," WSOC-TV reports. (WSOC-TV)
  3. "A suspect was arrested after leading Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police officers on a car chase in a stolen vehicle that ended in a crash. Around 6 p.m. on Tuesday, officers responded to an armed robbery of a stolen vehicle. The suspect allegedly approached a vehicle at a stoplight, opened the car door and pointed a handgun at the driver of the car, demanding for them to get out. The suspect then got into the vehicle and left the scene. CMPD located the stolen vehicle on The Plaza a short time later and a pursuit began for a short distance before officers lost sight of the car," WBTV reports. (WBTV)
  4. "Mann Travels 40th Annual Travel & Cruise Show will take place on February 18 from 11 AM – 4 PM at the Charlotte Convention Center. Talk to experts, representatives from the world’s leading cruise lines, tour companies and resorts & tourism boards.
