Coast Guard Rescues Five From Capsized Boat Off North Carolina Coast

Four adults and a child were pulled from the Atlantic Wednesday evening by the U.S. Coast Guard after their boat capsized.

CHARLOTTE, NC -- U.S. Coast Guard rescued a four-year-old child and four adults when their boat capsized off the coast of North Carolina, according to reports.

The Coast Guard rescue team, based in Wrightsville Beach, N.C., rescued the five people in under 20 mins after finding them all wearing life jackets and clinging to their boat that had flipped over near the Masonboro Inlet, The Raleigh News & Observer reported.

“The five people chose to make the right decision by wearing their life jackets, a decision that undoubtedly contributed to the positive outcome of this case,” Coast Guard command duty officer Keith Moore told the newspaper.
