Concrete Craft® of Charlotte Is Helping Transform a Veteran’s Life with the Gift of Business Ownership

A local Charlotte, N.C., veteran and business owner is helping to award a Home Franchise Concepts franchise to a U.S. or Canadian veteran.

Charlotte, N.C. (May 11, 2017) – Concrete Craft of Charlotte, the local representative of the leading concrete franchise specializing in one-of-a-kind indoor and outdoor surfaces for homes and businesses, is participating in a new initiative that promises to award a Concrete Craft or other Home Franchise Concepts (HFC) franchise to a deserving former member of the U.S. or Canadian military on U.S. Veteran’s Day and Canadian Remembrance Day.

Through June 2, Concrete Craft of Charlotte and other existing HFC franchisees will be nominating deserving local veterans for HFC’s There’s No Place Like Home Veteran Partnership and Giveaway to be considered to receive a Concrete Craft® or other HFC franchise territory including two weeks of extensive business-development training and up to an additional $100,000 in operating capital.

Western North Carolina residents can directly support the cause by participating in a Concrete Craft of Charlotte program designed to help raise some of the funds the selected veteran will use to build his or her business.

The initiative follows years of HFC support for veteran programs including Homes for Our Troops, Wounded Warriors Canada, Military Makeover, NBC’s George to the Rescue and the HFC Million Dollar Franchise Event which awarded more than $1 million in franchise discounts to former servicemen and women.

Thanks to this and an ongoing discount programs, HFC has introduced hundreds of veterans to business ownership to the point that veterans now represent a sizeable percentage of the company’s more than 1,300 franchise territories in the U.S., Canada and Mexico.

“At Concrete Craft, veterans are near and dear to our hearts,” said Patrick Godfrey, owner of Concrete Craft of Charlotte and a former US Navy Officer. “We know that many veterans experience significant challenges as they transition back into civilian life including finding employment and a sense of purpose beyond a 9-to-5 job. Beyond recognizing veterans for their exemplary service, this newest initiative is designed to show that, for some, Concrete Craft franchise ownership represents one of the best pathways to a fulfilling post-military career.”

According to Patrick, a unique component of the program is the ability for Concrete Craft customers to directly support the selected veteran with the first-year operating funds that can maximize his or her chances for long-term success.

“Concrete Craft, Budget Blinds and Tailored Living franchisees are being challenged to raise $50,000 which HFC will match to provide the winner with $100,000 in working capital to purchase equipment, advertise and grow their new business. We want to make sure our newest franchisee is set-up for success.”

HFC has also established a GoFundMe site to allow the public to donate toward the $50,000 goal. For details, go to https://www.gofundme.com/hfc-veteran-partnership-giveaway Veteran nominations are being accepted starting today through June 2, at which time a select committee of HFC franchise owners and employees will evaluate the applicants and award the new franchise in a media event on Nov. 11, 2017, Veteran’s Day in the U.S. and Remembrance Day in Canada.

HFC’s There’s No Place Like Home Veteran Partnership and Giveaway is open to all former members of the U.S. Amy, Navy, Marines, Air Force or Canadian Armed Forces who received an honorable discharge. Candidates must be referred by an active HFC franchise owner, who will be asked to write a paragraph explaining why the veteran is suited to own a Concrete Craft, Budget Blinds or Tailored Living franchise.

While HFC will cover the initial franchise and territory fees, the veteran that is selected to receive the franchise will be expected to pay royalty, NAF and co-op advertising and media fees once they take ownership of their business.
