Announced attendance was 35,798. It was the 100th anniversary of the first meeting between the Aggies and the Eagles, and so a particularly bitter defeat for A&T," INFORUM reports. Despite the disappointment, A&T head coach Sam Washington told the media, "This was everything for HBCUs." (INFORUM)

- It's been a little over a year since the engine of school Bus 168 caught on fire, engulfing the bus in flames. No children were on board. This incident resulted in lawsuits filed against Navistar International Corp. which is International’s parent company that created the MaxxForce engine in Bus 168. This incident also produced concerned conversations. "Despite the known issues, state education leaders have taken a hands-off approach to the problem. But some school districts have worked to replace MaxxForce engines," WBTV reports. (WBTV)
- Being at Ground Zero on 9/11 forever changed Kevin Miller who is a Charlotte fire marshal. "When the planes crashed and the World Trade Center towers fell on 9/11, firefighters rushed to help. Among them was firefighter Kevin Miller. ... In August 2001, he was assigned to the NYC fire headquarters in Brooklyn, New York, and was on light duty because of an injury he sustained on the job. A month later, on Sept. 11, 2001, terrorists hijacked four airplanes and carried out attacks against targets in the United States. ... When he arrived at the site, he saw what he recalled as 11 stories of debris," City of Charlotte Government reports. (charlottenc.gov)
