Dog Abuse Claims On Social Media Lead To Charlotte Police Probe

Animal Care & Control is looking for this man following a Facebook post alleging he abused a dog in a Charlotte-area park Saturday.

CHARLOTTE, NC -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Animal Care & Control unit is asking for the public’s help in identifying an alleged suspect after a post on Facebook claimed he abused a dog in a Charlotte area park over the weekend.

AC&C said it has assigned an officer to investigate the cruelty complaint after it received several messages on its social media on Monday, Dec. 18.

The incident is said to have occurred in a dog park off Pineville-Matthews Road in Charlotte. The Facebook post was made Dec. 16 around 7:30 p.m., AC&C said in a statement.

CMPD asks anyone with information about this man’s identity or the alleged incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
