Driver Shot and Killed Before Crashing Into Pole Identified
A driver was shot and killed before his car crashed into a utility pole in East Charlotte Thursday night has been identified by police.

CHARLOTTE, NC -- A man shot and killed while driving Thursday evening has been identified as Raymond James Johnson III.
Johnson, 43, was found inside inside a vehicle crashed into a utility pole around 8 p.m. Aug. 3 at the intersection of Fugate Avenue and Monroe Road. He was dead on the scene, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police.
The shooting occurred in a pawn shop parking lot and CMPD is reviewing surveillance video in the area, WSOCTV reported Friday.
