Early Morning Crash Claims Life In North Charlotte
A 48-year-old man died early Friday morning in a single-vehicle crash in north Charlotte.

CHARLOTTE, NC -- A 48-year-old man is dead after the van he was driving ran off the left side of the road and struck a tree, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said Friday morning.
Andrew James Durgan, III, 48, was killed when the 2006 Chevrolet Express van he was driving crashed around 2:20 a.m. on in the 4700 block of Gibbon Road in north Charlotte. According to police, neither speed nor alcohol are believed to have contributed to the accident, however, Durgan was not wearing a seatbelt. CMPD is investigating the crash and asks that anyone with information contact CMPD Detective Gormican at 704-432-2169.
