6 Injured In Early Morning Wrong-Way Crash Involving Ambulance

The crash occurred around 3 a.m. on a ramp linking Interstate 277 and Independence Boulevard.

CHARLOTTE, NC — An early morning crash caused by a wrong-way driver on an interstate ramp injured six people Monday, according to reports.

According to WSOC, the crash on the ramp connecting Interstate 277 and Independence Boulevard occurred around 3 a.m., when an ambulance was struck by a black pick-up truck traveling in the wrong direction.

Two medics in the ambulance received non-life threatening injuries. There were no patients in the ambulance at the time of the incident, the station said. Four people who were in the pick-up truck were also transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
