Here are the top three stories in Charlotte today:

Officers were called to the scene on May 18 because an unknown suspect fired three to four shots into the bus. The incident was at bus stop No. 24, located on Nations Ford Road and Huntsmoor Drive. No passengers were on the bus at the time. (WBTV)
  2. Ex-Charlotte Mayor Patrick Cannon, disgraced from a corruption investigation that sent him to federal prison, lost his bid to return to municipal office when he finished last in a six-candidate race in Tuesday's Democratic primary for at-large seats on the Charlotte City Council.
