Fetus Found In Sugar Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant
Workers at the wastewater treatment facility found an early term human fetus Wednesday in the water filtration system.

CHARLOTTE, NC -- An employee at the Sugar Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant alerted police Tuesday evening after they found a human fetus in the water filtration system.
The early term fetus was found by the worker in the section of the where solid waste materials are filtered out of incoming water at the treatment facility located at 5301 Closeburn Road.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department homicide detectives along with a Mecklenburg County Medical Examiner, who confirmed the fetus died of natural causes. There was no indication of foul play, CMPD said.
