Fire, Water Crews Rush To Save Puppy Stuck In A Sewer Pipe
A rescue crew dug almost 8 feet into the street and used a camera to track a toy poodle that fell into a sewer pipe.
CHARLOTTE, NC — A rescue crew of nearly 20 firefighters and Charlotte water workers became heroes Thursday morning after they launched a nearly two hour rescue operation that saved the life of a 5-week-old toy poodle puppy after it fell six feet down a sewer pipe in south Charlotte.
Firefighters arrived at the scene in the 9900 block of Evergreen Terrace Drive in south Charlotte around 8 a.m., where they joined with a city water crew to find the puppy “MJ.”
Realizing the dog could have possibly moved to another part of the sewage line, the rescue crew dug two holes and came up with a contingency plan to follow her in case she entered the main sewage line, WBTV reported.
