Charlotte Fugitive Added To FBI’s 10 Most Wanted List

18-year-old Alejandro "Alex" Castillo is wanted for murder and is now on the FBI's Ten Most Wanted Fugitive list.

CHARLOTTE, NC -- A Charlotte fugitive on the run and wanted on state and federal warrants for the murder of his former girlfriend is now on the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list.

Alejandro β€œAlex” Castillo, 18, is the first person from Charlotte to make the infamous list of notorious criminal suspects issued by the FBI, which is offering up to $100,000 in reward money for his capture.

Castillo is accused of the 2016 murder of his former girlfriend, 23-year-old Truc Quan β€œSandy” Ly Le, and is considered armed and extremely dangerous, the FBI said Oct. 24. In August 2016, Castillo, Ly Le and Ahmia β€˜Mia’ Feaster -- all coworkers at a Charlotte-area restaurant -- were each reported missing separately. During an investigation by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police, it was discovered that Ly Le had loaned Castillo money and the two were to meet Aug. 9, 2016 for repayment.

One week later on Aug. 15, Ly Le’s car was found at a Phoenix bus station and Castillo and Feaster were videoed crossing the border into Mexico. The next day, Ly Le’s body was found in North Carolina, in a wooded area in Cabarrus County, the FBI said. She had been shot in the head.

Feaster surrendered to authorities in October 2016 and faces charges in North Carolina including accessory to the murder. Castillo is wanted for first-degree murder, as well as unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.

Castillo is from Charlotte and has family in Arizona. Authorities, however, believe he is still in Mexico and that he may currently be living in the Mexican state of Aguascalientes in San Francisco de los Romo or Pabellon, and may have traveled to Guanajuato or Veracruz.
