FOUND: Missing Woman, Daughter Safe In Missouri
Three days after going missing, Megan Stack and her 8-year old daughter Ava are safe and have been located in Missouri.
CHARLOTTE, NC -- A Charlotte woman and her 8-year-old daughter who have been missing since Monday afternoon have been located in Missouri and are safe, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said Wednesday. Charlotte police had said there was concern for the pair’s safety due to the mother’s emotional state and recent behavior.
“Megan Stack and her 8-year-old daughter, Ava, are safe!” read a CMPD tweet Wednesday morning. “Ms. Stack went to an EMS station outside of St. Louis a short time ago and asked to be taken to a hospital to be evaluated. Authorities are working now to reunite Ava with other family members.”
The two had not be seen since Dec. 4 when Megan left their home on Cloister Drive in south Charlotte around 1:30 p.m. She dumped her wallet, cell phone, laptop and camera at a business on North Graham Street, The Charlotte Observer reported.

Ava was last seen when her mother picked up from school around 3:15 p.m. Charlotte police asked for the public’s assistance in finding them.
Ava’s father, Timothy Lybarger, told local reporters that his daughter’s mother did not have a grasp on reality and told him a couple of days ago that “people were after her and that she doesn’t want to die,” WSOC reported.
