Friday Morning Shooting Leaves Man Dead, Woman Injured

An early morning shooting in northeast Charlotte Friday left one man dead and a woman injured, as CMPD searchs for the killer.

CHARLOTTE, NC -- An early morning shooting in northeast Charlotte left a man dead and a woman injured Friday, as police search for the killer.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police responded to a 2 a.m. call Aug. 11 in the 2300 block of Ginger Lane, and found the two victims with gunshot wounds.

Joshua Duckworth, 23, was pronounced dead at Carolinas Medical Center. The female, who police have not yet named, was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, CMPD said.

CMPD has launched a homicide investigation and asks anyone with information contact Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600, or call 704-432-TIPS to speak directly to a homicide detective.
