Hazardous Conditions Advisory: North Carolina Weather

CHARLOTTE, NC — A threat of severe thunderstorms and damaging winds Tuesday and Tuesday night, along with the potential for spot flooding, has prompted a hazardous weather advisory from the National Weather Service's satellite headquarters in the piedmont of North Carolina.

“A robust cold front will approach the forecast area from the west and help to generate numerous showers and thunderstorms,” the National Weather Service said Tuesday. “Some ofthese storms could become severe and produce large hail and damaging wind gusts. Isolated urban and small stream flooding is also a threat with these storms. The flooding threat will be greatest over the higher terrain.”

While the chance of storms stays in the forecast for the Charlotte-metro region through early Wednesday, the remainder of the week will be mostly sunny and clear, forecasters said.
