Here’s How Charlotte Ranks Among ‘Best’ Big Cities

A new report ranked the best big cities in the country. See how the Charlotte metro fared.

Charlotte is the No. 22 best big city in America, according to a new WalletHub report published Tuesday.

The personal finance site compared the 62 largest cities in the nation based on dozens of key “attractiveness” metrics, including quality of public schools, life expectancy, job market and property taxes.

Virginia Beach is apparently the best big city in the world. The southern Virginia city was ranked the most affordable in the nation, and earned top 10 rankings for both education and health and safety.

Other interesting findings: The lowest housing costs can be found in Wichita, Kansas, and Omaha, Nebraska. San Francisco, Seattle, Oakland, Denver, San Jose and Austin, meanwhile, tied for first when it comes to highest income growth.
