Here’s What NC Looks Like From Space, And It’s Pretty Amazing
Astronaut Christina Koch, who is currently living in the International Space Station, tweeted this photo of the state's coast.

NORTH CAROLINA — Perhaps everyone gets homesick when they’re traveling. Now, imagine being a world away, literally. That’s the case for NASA astronaut Christina Koch, who just released a breathtaking view of the Tar Heel state’s coastline from her perch in the International Space Station.
“It took my breath away as it came into focus,” Koch tweeted Monday. “My first glimpse of coastal North Carolina from space. It’s a special thing to see from above the place where you grew up--the ocean that first inspired my fascination with things that make me feel small & planted the seed to explore.”
Koch, who has been a NASA astronaut since 2013, attended North Carolina State University, where she received a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering and physics, as well as a Master of Science in electrical engineering.
