Looking for something fun to do with the kids and out of town guests this holiday weekend? Here's a handy list of events.

CHARLOTTE, NC -- The kids are out of school for Good Friday and Easter Sunday is just around the corner. Just like a grassy park dotted with specks of colored eggs, Charlotte has heaps of fun family activities and events to ring in Easter just waiting to be found starting this weekend.

North Carolina Transportation Museum, 411 S. Salisbury Ave., Spencer.

Take a 25-minute train ride around the museum with the Easter Bunny, take part in photos, and receive a take-home craft and candy. Tickets start at $8. See website for times. Egg hunt on April 15 only.
Saturdays April 8, April 15
Lazy 5 Ranch, 15100 Mooresville Road, Mooresville.
See website for times. $8-$11. 704-663-5100. Explore the Lazy 5 Ranch, participate in crafts, face painting, Easter egg drop and hunt, and a petting zoo. Cash only.

Saturday, April 15
Independence Park, 300 Hawthorne Lane.
10am-noon. 704-375-7355. Bring the kids for face painting, an egg hunt, balloon animals and refreshments.
Stallings Municipal Park, 340 Stallings Road, Stallings.
7-8:30pm. Don't miss this unique glow-in-dark egg hunt.
NASCAR Hall of Fame, 400 E. MLK Jr. Blvd.
8-11am. $8-$18; Rookie Racers receive free general admission. 704-654-4400. Mr. Nigel will host pre-hunt activities such as a bean bag toss, egg roll contest, a bunny petting zoo, and face painting, and the Easter Parade leading up to the hunts begins at 10am. A showing of "Ice Age: The Great Egg-Scapade" will follow.
Latta Plantation, 5225 Sample Road, Huntersville.
10am-2pm. $6 for adults and children; one adult free per child. 704-875-2312. Egg hunt, plus live children’s music, crafts, children’s activities, farm animals and more. Reservations open April 1.
