Homicide Investigation Underway In East Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, NC — Police investigators are conducting a homicide investigation in east Charlotte, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said Friday morning.

The investigation is focused on the 7o00 block of Snow Lane, off Idlewild Road.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police received a call around 7:30 a.m. Friday morning, and officers located the body of a male — identified as Shakier Henderson, 21 — on the trail located in the 7000 block of Snow Lane behind Albemarle Road Recreation Center while conducting a welfare check, CMPD said in a statement. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
