Homicide Victim Identified As Search On For Shooter: CMPD
Marcus Okoye Withers, 28, was found shot multiple times in the yard of a home on Skyland Avenue, police said.
CHARLOTTE, NC — The victim of a late night homicide in Charlotte was identified by police Thursday morning.
According to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, officers responded to an emergency call reporting an assault with a deadly weapon in the 300 block of Skyland Avenue shortly before 10 p.m. and found a man lying in a yard with multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim, identified as Marcus Okoye Withers, 28, was transported to Atrium Health's Carolina Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead, CMPD said.

Homicide detectives responded to the scene, CMPD said the investigation into Withers' death remains active and ongoing.
