CHARLOTTE, NC β€” A Charlotte area church is stepping in to help the nearly 40 residents of an east Charlotte apartment building who lost their homes by a massive early morning fire late last week.

Albemarle Road Presbyterian Church is accepting donations for residents displaced by the July 20 predawn fire that ravaged the two-story block of homes at Woodbridge Apartments in the 6000 block of Yateswood Drive.
