- North Carolina is in for a wet weekend. Hurricane Ian is poised to hit the state in the coming days, and residents are already battening down the hatches. People are being urged to stay off the roads as much as possible and prepare for heavy rain that could disrupt weekend plans. (Spectrum News)
- According to a new report, over half of all the homicides throughout North Carolina are committed with guns. In the latest report on gun violence throughout the country and state, it was estimated that 0ver 78 percent of all homicides in North Carolina involved guns. Handguns were used in 325 of the 580 murders committed in the state with firearms. The FBI reports the overall murder rate in North Carolina stands at eight people for every 100,000.
