Brad Gibson, who is a JROTC instructor at the east Charlotte school, allegedly assaulted the students at the school.

CHARLOTTE, NC — A Charlotte high school JROTC teacher was behind bars Wednesday following an arrest for the sexual assault of two Independence High School students, according to Charlotte police. Victims told police that the assaults occurred on school property and went back as far as 2010.
One of the victims — a 15 year-old girl — reported the assaults Sept. 12, telling Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police that the suspect — later identified as Brad Gibson, 52, — assaulted her at the school earlier in the year when she was a student at the school. At the time, Gibson was a JROTC instructor at the school.
A second victim was identified during the investigation and told CMPD detectives that Gibson assaulted her in 2010, when she was 17 years-old and also a student at the school.
