July Fourth 2017 Forecast: Sunny, Warm In Charlotte

Rain is headed to the Charlotte region this weekend but is expected to move out in time for July 4th festivities Tuesday.

CHARLOTTE, NC -- Keep your outdoor fourth of July holiday weekend plans flexible because the Charlotte region will likely see periods of thunderstorms through Sunday. Conditions will clear up, however, with a sunny leadup to Independence Day, according to a National Weather Service forecast.

Charlotte will likely see afternoon thunderstorms Friday, with a 60 percent chance of rain, NWS said. Saturday, the Queen City will have a 30 percent chance of rain, which increases slightly on Sunday when intermittent thunderstorms are expected.The weekend will be fairly mild, with temperatures peaking in the high 80s and low 90s. The lows are expected to be around 70.

Sunny skies are expected for Tuesday, July 4.
