Juvenile Charged After Shooting During Armed Robbery: CMPD

CHARLOTTE, NC — A 15-year-old has been arrested and charged with firing a gun numerous times and shooting a clerk inside a northeast Charlotte gas station during an armed robbery, according to police.

The Jan. 12 robbery occurred shortly before 1 a.m. at the BP Gas Station located at 7910 Cambridge Commons Drive, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said.

According to a police report, the juvenile entered the gas station, brandished a gun and demanded property from an employee.

“During the course of this robbery, the suspect fired numerous rounds inside the business, and a second employee was struck and sustained a non-life-threatening injury,” CMPD said.

The suspect fled the business, but was located less than 10 minutes later by responding officers, CMPD said.

The juvenile was charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill and one count of robbery with a dangerous weapon.
