Little League World Series: North State Plays West Region Champs Sunday
North Carolina's little league champs take on California's Rio Santa Margarita Sunday afternoon in Little League Baseball World Series.

The North State Little League team, representing the Southeast region in the ongoing Little League Baseball World Series in South Williamsport, Penn., is set to square off against the Western region’s California-based Rio Santa Margarita All Stars Sunday afternoon.
The Greenville, N.C.-based team advanced in the playoffs after throwing a combined perfect game Friday, defeating the Midwest regional champs from Sioux Falls, S.D., 6-0.

The 2017 Little League Baseball World Series for players 12 and younger will run Aug. 17-27 in South Williamsport, Penn. when teams from eight countries and eight U.S. regions vie for the title.
