  1. "Novant Health has just opened a new after-hours clinic for kids. Novant Health Pediatrics After Hours Care - Carmel will be open for appointments from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays and will accept walk-ins on weekends from noon to 8 p.m. The clinic will treat acute illnesses including colds, sore throats, ear infections, flu and stomach bugs. It will also provide care for minor injuries such as cuts, sprains and strains as well as minor procedures that require sutures and stitches," WCNC reports. (WCNC.com)
  2. "The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is investigating a homicide after a deadly shooting in south Charlotte Saturday night. Officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call just after 10:30 p.m. at a McDonald’s on Starbrook Drive and South Boulevard. Police said a 23-year-old was shot and taken to the hospital, where they later died. The identity of the victim has not been released," WSOC Charlotte reports. (WSOC Charlotte)
  3. "The family of Ja’Ron McGill continues to honor their son’s life and plead for justice after he was shot and killed 13 years ago. The deadly shooting happened on Aug. 3, 2009 around 11:30 p.m. McGill was found shot on the side of the road near the intersection of Lanecrest Drive and Colby Place in east Charlotte," WBTV reports.   4. "As antisemitism around the country continues to rise, the Jewish Federation of Greater Charlotte has formed new initiatives to try to stamp out hate. On Sunday, they it held one of its largest annual fundraisers, a Super Sunday Phone-A-Thon that saw more than 100 volunteers. Though the event is held every year, organizers said this year was especially important," reported WGHP FOX8 Greensboro. (WGHP FOX8 Greensboro)
  5. "Parking changes will soon impact drivers in uptown Charlotte and South End. Later this month, drivers will have to start paying to park on Saturdays. Starting Monday, the city will begin putting up signs letting everyone know Saturday’s free parking will end on March 25. City leaders started considering the changes last May and raised fees to $1.50 an hour in July. They were originally going to start charging for parking in metered spaces on Saturdays last fall but delayed it until now," WBTV reports. (WBTV)
