Lowe’s Testing Robotic Exoskeletons To Help Ease Their Worker’s Load
Mooresville-based Lowe's home improvement stores are testing robotic exoskeletons in a pilot program.

MOORESVILLE, NC -- Lowe’s is testing robotic exoskeletons for workers tasked with heavy or awkward loads in a bid to reduce workplace injuries.
The home improvement giant, which is headquartered in Mooresville, has teamed up with Virginia Tech’s Assistive Robotics Laboratory to test a wearable exoskeleton made of carbon fiber that will store and release energy guided by the person wearing it, according to Quartz.
The store has launched a pilot program in Christiansburg, Vir., where workers are testing the technology. Check out this video to learn more about the workplace technology:
