Man, 39, Charged With Assaulting 12-Year-Old Boy
An anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers helped the police identify the man they believe assaulted a 12-year-old boy unprovoked.
CHARLOTTE, NC — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police have charged a man with assault after a picture of him was widely shared on social media. Benjamin Keyser, 39, is alleged to have assaulted a boy Friday, June 29.
"He is wanted for physically assaulting a 12-year-old boy Friday night in First Ward Park on 7th Street," police said in a Facebook post. Police believed the assault to be unprovoked and random.
An anonymous tip through Charlotte Crime Stoppers identified Keyser, police say.
