Man Charged With Felony For Pointing A Laser At CMPD Helicopter
After targeting a police helicopter, a 18-year-old learned the hard way that pointing a laser at an aircraft is a felony.

CHARLOTTE, NC -- An 18-year-old man was arrested and charged with pointing a laser at an aircraft after officers in a police helicopter saw they were being targeted Tuesday night.
Shining a laser at an aircraft is considered a felony, and can temporarily blind pilots, which puts lives of those on board at risk. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police officers were flying above Nations Ford Elementary School around 11 p.m. Aug. 8 when they saw Abrahan Saloman Nass Romero, 18, pointing a green laser at their helicopter while standing next to a vehicle.
