Man Charged With Impersonating Officer Had Lights, Guns: CMPD
Police said the suspect had a Chevrolet Impala outfitted with blue lights and sirens, a tactical vest, FBI shirts and a police radio.
CHARLOTTE, NC — A man who identified himself as a federal officer and attempted to assist police by conducting traffic control as they responded to an accident recently has been arrested, charged with impersonating an officer, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department. During a search of the suspect’s home, investigators found a trove of items, including a tactical vest and “FBI” clothing, police said.
CMPD officers initially took note of the man who had jumped into action to assist them as they responded to the accident scene in the 7500 block of East W.T. Harris Boulevard around 5:30 p.m. Sept. 20, according to a police report.
“Upon arrival, officers saw a male subject assisting with traffic control, wearing a shirt with ‘Federal Investigator’ printed on it and driving a dark blue Chevrolet Impala with blue and red LED lights,” CMPD said.

The man identified himself to CMPD officers as Christopher Jones and said he was with the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
CMPD investigators, however, say his real name is Antoine Adolph Jones, 34.

The next day, on Sept. 21, detectives executed a search warrant at Jones’s home on Parkland Circle, where they found firearms, a tactical vest, FBI shirts and clothing, a police radio and a Chevrolet Impala with blue lights, sirens and a mounted computer.
Jones was charged with impersonating law enforcement and using red and blue lights on a vehicle.
