Man Fatally Shot Inside Car in Charlotte Early Tuesday: CMPD

Charlotte Police are investigating the fatal shooting death of a man they found inside a vehicle early Tuesday morning on Rosetta Street.

CHARLOTTE, NC -- Police are asking for the public’s help after a man was found shot to death in a vehicle before dawn on Rosetta Street.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police responded to the 1400 block of Rosetta Street after they received a call for an assault with a deadly weapon around 3 a.m. Sept. 12. There, they found a male gunshot victim, who was pronounced dead on the scene. He has been identified by CMPD as Derrick Lee Banner, 26.

CMPD asks that anyone with information about this case contact 704-432-TIPS and ask to speak with Homicide Detective Jones, or call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
