Man Fighting For Life After He Was Found Shot In Vehicle: CMPD
Monroe Road was shut down for hours early Friday following an early morning shooting of a man in a vehicle, according to reports.
CHARLOTTE, NC — Charlotte police say an investigation is underway after an early morning shooting along a major Charlotte thoroughfare that left a man fighting for his life.
According to a report by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, officers initially responded to a traffic complaint shortly before 2 a.m. near the 5400 block of Monroe Road, near the intersection of North Sharon Amity Road.
"When they arrived, officers located a vehicle occupied by an adult male who had been shot," CMPD said.

The man, who has not yet been identified, was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police were investigating a white Dodge pickup truck at the scene and shut down traffic along the roadway until around 7:30 a.m. Friday, WSOC reported.

CMPD said anyone with information is asked to call 704-432-TIPS and speak directly to a Homicide Unit detective or call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
