Man, Five Apartments, Three Cars Hit In Shooting Near Uptown

Police are searching for the gunman responsible for shooting a man and into five apartments near Uptown Charlotte.

CHARLOTTE, NC — Police are asking for the public’s help in their investigation into a shooting earlier this week that left a man with non life-threatening gunshot wound, as well as five apartments and three cars riddled with bullet holes.

The June 4 incident occurred around 11:20 a.m. in the 600 block of East 8th Street, according to police. Responding officers located one male victim who had been shot, and he was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

“As officers continued the investigation, they determined a total of five apartments and three vehicles were damaged as a result of the shooting,” Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said in a statement about the incident. “Three of the five apartments were occupied at the time of the shooting.

CMPD said its detectives are asking anyone with information about this case to report it either directly by calling 911 or anonymously by calling Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
