A South Charlotte man walking his dog didn't hesitate to jump into action after witnessing a Ford Raptor strike a tree and overturn. David Perkins was walking his dog Sunday afternoon on Springbank Lane in Charlotte when he heard what he described as a loud screaking sound. "When I looked towards the sound, I saw the car bounce off a tree and start to roll and hit another tree."

As Perkins reached the front of the truck he realized people trapped inside were trying to free themselves by kicking out the windshield. Himself and another gentleman nearby ran towards the crash to see if they could help the injured victims.

"The passengers were kicking open the windshield and they had just started sticking their hands out." "Another Gentleman and I reached out and started to help them out of the windshield."

The driver and passengers inside the truck seemed to be dazed and confused after the crash but only suffered minor cuts and bruises. The victims thanked David for this heroic deed and were grateful he was in the right place at the right time.

"Just Somebody Helping Another Person In Need," Perkins said as he left the scene. "You have to help your fellow man, especially in today's time. That's all we got is each other."
