Man Shot, Killed In Front Of South Charlotte Restaurant
A man was shot and killed as he left a south Charlotte restaurant late Monday night. Here's what police are saying about the case.
CHARLOTTE, NC — A murder investigation is underway after a 41-year-old man was shot and killed in front of a south Charlotte restaurant late Monday.
According to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, they received a call for service reporting a shooting at the Restaurante Lempira, located at 5906 South Boulevard, shortly before 11 p.m.
When officers responded to the scene, they found a male victim with gunshot wounds, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Police later identified the victim as Domingo Venancio-Tapia, 41.

“The initial investigation has indicated that the victim had been inside the restaurant and was shot within a few minutes of exiting the building,” CMPD said.
Homicide detectives are searching for any possible witnesses to the shooting. CMPD said that anyone with information about this incident is asked to call 704-432-TIPS and speak directly to a homicide unit detective, or call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
