UPDATE: Manhunt In Charlotte Following Double Murder
One victim was found dead in a house and the other was found dead in a car trunk, police said.

CHARLOTTE, NC -- A manhunt is underway in Charlotte after police discovered two homicide victims early Thursday morning. One victim was found dead in a north Charlotte home and the other was found in a trunk.
Police say the main suspect is Vurnel Smith Jr., 40, who they say is travelling around Charlotte, the Charlotte Observer reported. He is believed to be driving a black 2017 Honda CRV LX with NC license plate PAS-9116.

WSOC reported that police arrived at the home on Red Clay Lane around 4:30 a.m. Thursday morning.
Jacqueline Gordon-White, 65, was found dead in a home in the 9000 block of Red Clay Lane, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said, according to the Observer.

The circumstances surrounding the murders is unknown at this point. The Observer reported that police say they stemmed from a domestic dispute.
Smith has pending trials for first-degree rape and first-degree sexual offense, the Observer said, in relation to a March 2015 case. The victim said Smith, an acquaintance, broke into her home and sexually assaulted her.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are asking the public's help in finding Smith. If you have any information as to his whereabouts or see the vehicle described above, police urge you to call 911 immediately.
