A bomb threat for the courthouse in uptown prompted a building-wide evacuation midday Tuesday.

CHARLOTTE, NC -- A bomb threat prompted a building-wide evacuation of the Mecklenburg County Courthouse in uptown Charlotte midday Tuesday.
Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s deputies and K-9 teams conducted a thorough search of the building and reopened it to the public a short time later.
Tuesday’s threat was the second hoax in the Charlotte-metro region in the span of a day. Mooresville’s Walmart store was evacuated Monday evening, prompting law enforcement to shut off traffic near the store along a main artery for a couple of hours.
