Mooresville Restaurant Owner Arrested For Tax Evasion

MOORESVILLE, NC -- The owner of the Lake Norman waterfront restaurant Blue Parrot Grill was arrested this week for failing to report $3 million to the Internal Revenue Service, according to reports.

Blue Parrot Grill owner Peter Gjuraj was arrested May 31 by federal authorities and charged with hiding the millions in incoming from his business through the purchase of two houses, cars, travel and home improvement, The Charlotte Observer reported Thursday. According to the federal documents used to secure his indictment, Gjuraj also fraudulently claimed tax credits, the newspaper reported.

The Blue Parrot Grill is located at 169 Pinnacle Lane in Mooresville.
