Murder Probe Underway After Man Fatally Shot Inside 7-Eleven

A man was fatally shot inside a 7-Eleven in a predawn shooting, and another found with gunshot injuries abut 2 miles away, police said.

CHARLOTTE, NC — A murder investigation is underway in northwest Charlotte after a man was fatally shot inside a 7-Eleven conveniece store in a predawn shooting.

According to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, officers responded to the business located in the 4800 block of Brookshire Boulevard shortly before 4 a.m. Aug. 8 after receiving a call reporting an assault with a deadly weapon.

The male gunshot victim, who has not yet been identified by police pending family notification, was transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Shortly after the incident, another male gunshot victim was located about two miles away in the1200 block of Saratoga Drive. His wounds, however, were considered non life-threatening.

“At this time, the relationship between the two victims is unknown,” CMPD said.

Police said the investigation is active and ongoing, and said anyone with information about the incident is asked to call 704-432-TIPS and speak directly to a homicide unit detective. The public can also call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600, CMPD said.
