  1. "Charlotte 49ers women's soccer players Haley Shand and Macey Bader were named to the 2022 Conference USA Championships All-Tournament Team after the event concluded on Sunday afternoon. Bader led the Niners with six points in CLT's two matches in the tournament, including a career-best five points against Rice. She scored the second brace of her career in the quarterfinals against Rice and setup Shand for the 49ers' fourth and final goal against the regular season champions. Bader found Shand again in the semifinal against UTSA to Charlotte's only goal in the match," Charlotte Athletics reports. (Charlotte Athletics)
  2. "Coy Gibbs, the son of NASCAR owner and Super Bowl-winning head coach Joe Gibbs, passed away overnight, Joe Gibbs Racing confirmed on Sunday. The younger Gibbs was just 49 years old and was part owner of his father’s race team. He passed away in his sleep," WBTV reports. (WBTV)
  3. "Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police have identified and arrested the suspect in what they described as a ‘brutal sexual assault’ Friday night near Tuckaseegee Road in northwest Charlotte. CMPD’s Sexual Assault Unit said Octavius Wayne Wilson, 29, has been charged with kidnapping, sexual battery, first-degree rape, first-degree attempted sexual offense, and assault on a female. During a briefing on Saturday, Nov. 5, investigators said the attack occurred around 11:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, near 3800 Glenwood Drive. The woman was walking and during her walk, she was approached by an unknown man, who struck up a conversation with her," CBS17 reports. (CBS17.com)
  4. "November is National Diabetes Awareness Month and a time for all North Carolina residents to assess their risk for developing prediabetes or type 2 diabetes. More than 96 million adults in America have prediabetes, while eight in 10 people don’t know they have prediabetes. What’s more, in North Carolina, 166 adults develop diabetes each day, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention...While there is no cure for diabetes, prediabetes can be reversed. The YMCA offers its Diabetes Prevention Program to help people with prediabetes lose weight, increase their physical activity and eat healthier through this CDC-approved curriculum and a supportive, small group led by trained YMCA staff. The program helps people potentially prevent or delay the onset of type 2 diabetes," South Charlotte Weekly reports.(South Charlotte Weekly)
  5. "More than 2 million people participated in the early voting process in North Carolina. Now, polls are closed and the next time you can cast your ballot in person is on Tuesday. Meanwhile, get-out-the-vote campaigns continue across the region. Some local organizations are working to mobilize Latino voters and get them to the polls," WCNC reports. (WCNC.com)
  6. "The Charlotte flag football club A team won the Queen City Classic on Oct. 15. The club, split into two teams, is up and coming. While the team doesn't have an official coach, John Fraello acts as a leader and coach. Team A won 20-6 in the finals against North Carolina State University, putting them at 6-0. Team B had their first win in club history in round two against the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill,"Niner Times reports. (Niner Times)
