NC Marching Band Set To Play In Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade
The Pride of The Mountains marching band from Western Carolina University will represent NC in the 2019 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
NORTH CAROLINA — If you’re a fan of the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade who lives in the Tar Heel State, you’ve got added reason to tune into the festivities this year.
The Pride of the Mountains from Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, North Carolina will be one of 11 performing in the world-famous Thanksgiving parade.
The North Carolina band is made up of 540 individuals and the turkey day performers will be playing “Livin’ on a Prayer” and “Don’t Stop Believin’” as they trot through the New York City streets.

Here’s what Macy’s says about the band:
“Known as the Pride of the Mountains marching band, this high-energy, drum corps-style ensemble performs throughout the U.S. at various parades and Bands of America competitions. They were the winner of the prestigious Sudler Trophy in 2009 and made their Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade debut in 2014.”
The annual parade kicks off at 9 a.m. on Thursday in New York City, and you can watch the entire event on NBC. The Thanksgiving celebration will feature balloons, floats, clowns and performances from some of the biggest stars in music.
