Neighbors Tip Off Police To 3am Car Break-In In East Charlotte
A 22-year-old suspect was charged with eight auto break-ins after a neighbor caught him in the act in the middle of the night.

CHARLOTTE, NC — A tip from quick-thinking neighbors in east Charlotte who saw a neighbor’s car being broken into in the middle of the night led to the arrest of a suspect already wanted for a similar crime in the area, according to Charlotte Mecklenburg Police.
The incident serves as a reminder to lock vehicles and remove all valuables including keys from them, police said.
CMPD responded to the vehicle break-in call shortly before 3 a.m. June 19 in the 7900 block of Briardale Drive, where several neighbors gave officers a description of the suspect, who had already left the scene.

Officers were able to find the suspect, identified as 22-year-old Christian Holt, who matched the description and was detained him “without incident.”
