  1. "A new pub is coming to Truist Field in Uptown, Charlotte. The Paper Mill Pub will be a year-round restaurant located next to the Charlotte Knights' home field. Officials say the design is inspired by the Virginia Paper Company building, which used to be located where Truist Field is now. ... The overall design of the Paper Mill Pub includes an outdoor patio, an inside bar with sliding windows, and a second-floor gathering space with a remarkable view of the Uptown Charlotte skyline. With a capacity of 125 patrons in the pub, this two-story facility will feature delicious food and drinks all year round," WCNC reports. (WCNC.com)
  2. "As the Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority publicly commits to diversity, equity and inclusion, public records show the agency paid one small business more than $750,000 over the last decade for leadership consulting work without ever giving minority and women-owned businesses an equal shot at the same job," WCNC reports. (WCNC.com)
  3. "There’s a new seafood spot in town. Brown Bag Seafood Co. is opening it’s third location in the Charlotte area. It’s a fast-casual Midwest seafood chain, based in Chicago but now has three Charlotte locations. The first Brown Bag Seafood Co. opened in August at Birkdale Village in Huntersville. There’s a second location in South End on W. Worthington Ave and the latest just opened in uptown Charlotte," V101.9 reports. (V101.9)
  4. "North Carolina Attorney General Josh Stein announced a bid for governor in 2024 on Wednesday, with the Democrat pledging to focus on public education, economic opportunity and equality and to provide a sharp contrast with a potential Republican opponent. … Stein, the state’s top law enforcement officer since being first elected in 2016, was always considered a likely candidate to attempt to succeed Democrat Roy Cooper, who is term-limited from seeking reelection. Cooper himself was attorney general for four terms, and Stein served under him as head of consumer protection division for several years," WCCB Charlotte reports. (WCCB Charlotte)
  5. "McNinch House owner Ellen Davis died on Friday, leaving the fine-dining restaurant to chart a new course after 30-plus years. Davis was 84. Her death comes just seven weeks after the loss of her daughter Beth. ... The mother-daughter duo had spent 25 years working together to guide the McNinch House to success. The McNinch House is tucked into an historic Fourth Ward property at 511 N. Church St. It has become a staple of Charlotte’s dining scene. It was the only restaurant here to be awarded Four Diamond status by AAA in 2022 — its 24th consecutive year," WSOC-TV reports. (WSOC-TV)
