North Carolina Bakery Rates ‘Best Apple Pie’ List

Fall is finally in the air, which means apple season is in full swing. Perhaps there’s no dessert more beloved and symbolic in the U.S. than apple pie. But when the nation’s favorite fruit-filled pastry has been around since the eighteenth century, where do you even begin looking for the tastiest version?

According to the folks at The Daily Meal, when it comes to finding a slice of America’s Best Apple Pie, you have some options. Sixteen of them, in fact. One is in North Carolina.

“There are thousands and thousands of apple pies sold in restaurants across America on a daily basis, served hot, served cold, with whipped cream or à la mode, if you are looking for apple pie, you need not look far to find a slice,” The Daily Meal said. “We scoured the internet, read every “best pie” list we could find and leafed through pages and pages of reviews to compose a list of the best apple pies in America.”

In North Carolina, the perfect apple pastry can be found at Scratch Baking in Durham, N.C., according to The Daily Meal. Here’s what it had to say about Scratch:
