North Carolina Is Home To THIS Sexy Accent, Study Says

NORTH CAROLINA — The Outer Banks of North Carolina are known for a lot of things, from beautiful family-friendly beaches, to light houses and ghosts of pirates from long ago. But, a sexy accent?

According to the website www.bigseventravel.com, the Outer Banks “High Tide,” (also known as “Hoi Toider”) accent has ranked among the nation's sexiest, just above Ozark and the southern twang from Tallahassee.

“High Tider, or Hoi Toider, is the accent spoken by a small amount of people on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. It’s an unusual brogue that sounds a bit Australian,a bit Irish and also a bit British," the researchers said.

The coastal brogue wasn’t the only mention the Tar Heel State received. The Appalachian accent also got a mention on the list.

What’s the sexiest accent in the U.S.? According to the researchers, it’s the Texas drawl, followed by chatter heard in Boston. The two least sexy accents in the country? New Jersey and Long Island.
