North Carolina Santa Inducted Into International Hall Of Fame

Greensboro Santa Jac Grimes is one of six Santas inducted into the International Santa Claus Hall of Fame this year.

GREENSBORO, NC — A North Carolina man’s Christmas spirit and red Santa suit has landed him in the International Santa Claus Hall of Fame, making him one of six Santas bestowed with the honor this year, according to the Greensboro News & Record.

For the past 12 years, Jac Grimes, of Guilford County, North Carolina, has taken up the annual holiday role of Santa, volunteering for parade floats throughout North Carolina, parties and visits to area hospitals.

His induction into the hall of fame puts him in league with 63 other steller Santas who have been recognized since the honor’s inception in 2010, including Ed Asner and Mickey Rooney, the newspaper reported.

“I’m still kind of shocked that they actually would select me, because if you go look at their inductees, there are guys that did it in department stores for 30 years,” Grimes told the newspaper. “And I’m just incredibly honored to be a part of it.”
